영어회화 26일 : 낙담ㆍ분노하기

1.  I’m disappointed that ~ : ~ 에 실망했습니다.

I’m disappointed that the tickets were sold out.   표가 매진이라니 실망이야.

I know. We should have made reservations.   그러게, 예약을 했어야 했는데.

• 그렇게 유감스러운 일이    What a shame!
• 난 그 공연을 정말 보고 싶었어.    I really wanted to see the show.
• 그 공연은 정말 실망스러웠어.    The show was a disappointment.
• 그것은 내 기대에 못미치더라구   It didn’t live up to my expectations.

 

2. This is so frustrating! : 정말 짜증나!

This is so frustration !    정말 짜증나!

What’s wrong?   무슨일이야?

My computer keeps crashing.   내 컴퓨터가 계속 다운되잖아.

• 짜증나는군!    I’m frustrated.
• 차라리 죽여라죽여!   This is killing me!
• 더는 못참아.    I can’t stand it anymore.
• 이건 정말 말도 안되는 일이야!   This is crazy!

 

3.  I’m angry at ~ !  :  ~ 때문에, 화가나!

I’m angry at the way he decided !    그가 결정한 방식이 화가나!

He thinks beauty is more important than talent !    재능보다 외모를 중시하잖아!

Sorry to hear that.    참 안됐다.

• 그가 재능보다 미모를 선택했다니 정말 화가나.   I’m very mad that he chose beauty over talent.
• 그가 결정을 내린 방식이 나를 정말 화나게 해.   The way he decided really makes me upset.
• 정말 짜증나.   This is so annoying!

 

4. How could ~ !  :  도대체, 어떻게 ~ 할 수가!

How could you do this to me !     나한테 어쩜 이럴 수가 있어!

Calm down, honey. I got you some food.   진정해. 자기야. 먹을 것을 좀 갖고 왔어.

• 감히 어떻게 그럴 수가! How dare you!
• 나 너한테 놀랐어 I’m surprised at you.
• 그이상 더 어리석게 행동할 수도 있나? Can you be any more stupid than that?

 

5. 영어로 말해보기

Anne   :  정말 안타깝다!  표가 매진됐다니 정말 실망이야.

James :  미안해. 내가 좀 일찍 샀어야 했는데.

Anne   :  내가 얼마나 이영화를 보고싶었했는지 알지.

James :  알아. 내가 예고편을 봤는데 별로인 것 같더라.

Anne   :  정말?

James :  그래. 내 기대에 못미치더라고.

Anne   :  음, “너무 기대를 많이 하지는 마” 기억나?

James :  너 그거 아직도 기억해?

 

Anne   :  What a shame!  I’m so disappointed that the tickets were sold out.

James :  I’m sorry. I should have bought them earlier.

Anne   :  You know I really wanted to see the movie.

James :  I know. Well, I saw the preview ad it didn’t look good.

Anne   :  Really?

James :  Oh, yeah. It didn’t live up to my expectations.

Anne   :  Hmm, “don’t get your hopes up too high.” remember?

James :  You still remember that?

 

 

James :  뭐라고요? 하지만 일주일 내내 쉴수있다고 하셨잖아요 !

부장    :  그러게, 그런데 사장님이 회의에 James씨가 필요하시다고 하시네.

James :  어떻게 저한테 이러실수 있어요! 저 정말 화나려고 해요.

부장    :  나도 이 회사의 방식이 화가나요.

James :  음...알았어요. 어떻게 할수있을지 볼게요.

부장     :  하하하! 속았지! 정말 재미있군 !

James :  이런! 정말 기겁했다구요.

 

James :  What? But you said I can take a whole week off !

부장    :  I know. But the boss says he’ll need you there at the meeting.

James :  How could you do this to me! I’m getting really angry.

부장     : The way things work here really upsets me, too.

James :  Well,....okay. I’ll see what I can do.

부장    :  Ha ha ha! Gotcha! This is so funny !

James :  Come on! You really scared me !
