영어회화 17일 : 부정적인 추정

1.  I don’t think ~  :  ~ 인 것 같지 않아요.

What if it rains?    비가 오면 어쩌지? 

I don’t think, it will rain today.    오늘은 비가 올 것 같지 않아

• 나한테 어울릴것 같지 않아   I don't think it'll look good on me.
• 더 이상 그녀를 좋아하지 않는 것 같아요.     I don’t think that I like her anymore.
• 난 그런 생각 해 본 적이 없어요.     I never thought of that.

 

2.  I doubt ~   :   ~ 가 아닐 거에요.

How about Tom Brown?    톰 브라운은 어떨까?

I doubt he can do the job.    그가 그 일을 해내지 못할거에요.

• 아닌 것 같은데요     I doubt that.
• 틀림없어요.     No doubt about it.
• 그런일은 일어나지 않을거에요.      That’s not going to happen.

 

3.  I’m not sure ~   :   ~ 는 잘 모르겠는데요

So, are you going to marry Jim?    그래서, 너 짐이랑 결혼할거야?

I don’t know. I’m not sure if he loves me.    모르겠어. 그가 나를 사랑하는지 잘 모르겠어.

• 그건 나도 잘 모르겠어   I’m not sure about that.
• 이게 좋은 생각인지 모르겠다.    I’m not sure if it a good idea.
• 결정을 내릴수가 없어요.     I can’t make up my mind.

 

4. 영어로 말해보기

Harry    :  오늘 날씨가 정말 흐리네.

James :  그래, 그런데 비가 올 것 같지는 않아.

Harry   :  잘됐다. 나 우산어 없거든.  그건그렇고 오늘 김씨 생일이야. 선물을 사는건 어때?

James :  좋은생각이냐. 음, 난 생각도 못했어.

Harry   :  사실 조양이 그를 위해 깜짝파티를 준비하고있어.

James :  정말? 하지만 그가 오늘 사무실에 돌아올지 모르겠어.

Harry   :  뭐? 어째서?

James :  그가 아팠거든.그래서 집에 일찍 갔어.

 

Harry   :  It’s really cloudy today.

James :  Yeah, but I don’t think It’ll rain today.

Harry   :  Good. I don’t have an umbrella. By the way, today’s Mr. Kim’s birthday. How about getting him a present?

James :  That sounds good. Well, I never thought of that.

Harry   :  Actually, Miss Cho is prepareing a surprise party for him.

James :  Really? But I doubt he’ll come back in the office today.

Harry   :  What? How come?

James :  He was sick. So, he went home early.

 

 

 

점원     :  저, 어떤 것으로 하실지 결정하셨어요?

Harry   :   다 좋아보이네요. 결정을 내릴수가 없네요.

James :  이건 어때? 그가 파란색을 좋아해.

점원     :  훌륭해요. 제가 선물포장해드릴게요.

Harry   :  그가 이걸 좋아할지 모르겠네.

James :  당연하지, 그가 좋아할거야! 파랑은 그게 제일 좋아하는 색이야!

 

점원     :  So, have you decided which one to take?

Harry   :  They all look good to me. I can’t make up my mind.

James :  How about this one? He likes blue.

점원     :  Excellent! I’ll gift–wrap it for you.

Harry   :  I’m not sure if he’ll like this.

James :  Of course, he’ll love it! Blue is his favorite color!
