1.  I agree with you ~  :  ~ 라는 당신말에 동의해요

We should make this building smoke-free.      이 건물을 금연 건물로 해야해

I agree with you that we need more fresh air.     맑은 공기가 필요하다는 당신 말에 동의해요.

• 동감입니다.    I feel the same way.
• 거기에 대해서는 저도 당신과 같은 생각이에요.      I’m with you on that.

• 나도 그렇게 생각해.   I think so, too.

 

2. Exactly  :  바로 그거에요!

 

You mean the one with no windows?   창문이 있는 저것 말인가요?

Exactly !     맞아요 ! 

• 네, 바로 그겁니다.    Yes, that’s it.
• 그렇죠.    There you go.
• 당연하죠 Absolutely.     물론입니다. Positive.

 

3. 영어로 말해보기

James : 이 건물 전체를 금연지역으로 해야 한다고 생각해.

Harry    :  사실 나도 그 의견에 동의해.

부장     :  아니, 다들 왜그래요? 흡연자의 권리는 어쩌라고? 자자, 내 생각에 동의하는 사람?

Harry    :  이 안에 신선한 공기가 더 필요하거든요.

James  :  전 늘 머리가 심하게 아파요.

부장     :  알았어, 생각해볼게요. 자, 이제 점심이나 하러 가죠.

James :  좋은 생각이에요. 부장님. 점심 먹는 중에는 담배피우지 말아주셔요.

부장    :  자, 알았어요.

 

James :  I believe we should make this building smoke-free.

Harry   :  Actually, I agree with him on the idea.

부장    :  What’s up with you guys? What about smokers’ rights?  Come on, who’s with me?

Harry   :  We do need more fresh air in here.

James :  I get bad headaches all the time.

부장    :  Well, okay. I’ll think about it. Now let’s go for lunch.

James :  That sounds good, sir, but please don’t smoke during lunch, okay?

부장   :  Well, all right.

 

 

부장  :  글쎄, 물론 좀 더 나은 작업 환경을 만들어야 겠다는 점은 사장님께 동의합니다.

사장  :  어젯밤 TV에서 한 다큐멘터리 봤어요?

부장  :  흡연에 관한 것 말씀이세요?

사장  :  맞아요!   와~ 충격적이었어요!

부장  :  그럼 이 건물을 금연지역으로 만들자는 의견에 동의 하시는거죠?

사장  :  물론이죠! 그럼 나도 좀 더 쉽게 담배를 끊을 수 있겠죠!

 

부장  :  Well, I agree with you that we need to make a better working environment.

사장  :  Did you see that documentary on TV last night?

부장  :  You mean the one about smoking cigarettes?

사장  :  Exactly !   Wow, it was shocking!

부장  :  Then, do you agree that we need to make thin building smoke-free?

사장  :  Absolutely! Then, I can quit smoking more easily!
