1.  I like your ~  :  당신, ~ 멋지네요.

I like your new hair style !    새 헤어스타일 멋진데 !

Thanks.    고마워

• 당신이 하고 있는 스카프 참 좋네요.    I like that scarf you're wearing.
• 멋진 드레스네요.   That's a nice dress.
• 그거 좋은 생각 이네요.  I like that idea.
• 그거 당신에게 잘 어울려요.   That suits you well.

 

2.  You didn't have to ~  :   이러지 않으셔도 되는데

I got this for you.   For me?   이거 너 주는거야.

Oh, you didn't have to.           나한테? 와, 뭐 이럴것까지  (안그래도 되는데)

Thank you so much. I love it.   정말 고마워. 너무 좋다.

• 이러면 안되는데...  You shouldn't have./ You didn't need to do this.
• 그런 말은 하지 말지 그랬어.  You shouldn't have said that.
• 이런 것 받을 자격이 있는 건지 모르겠네요.   I don't know if I deserve this.

 

3. 영어로 말해보기

James :  너 그 새로운 머리 스타일 마음에 드는 걸.

Anne   :  고마워. 너 입고있는 그 셔츠 좋다. 색깔이 너랑 잘 어울린다.

James :  고마워. 있잖아, 너 주려고 뭐 사왔어. 자, 여기.

Anne   :  정말 이러지 않아도 되는데..어머나!

James :  마음에 들어?

Anne   :  마음에 들고 말고. 하지만 이건 너무 비싸잖아. 내가 이런거 받아도 되는건지 모르겠다.

James :  있잖아. 나랑 Mira 사이에 있었던 일 정말 미안해.

Anne   :  Mira가 누구야?

 

James :  I like your new hair style.

Anne   :  Thanks. That is a nice shirt you're wearing. The color suits you well.

James :  Thanks. Hey, I got something for you. Here.

Anne   :  Oh, you really shouldn't have. Oh, my gosh!

James :  Do you like it?

Anne   :  I love it! But this is so expensive! I don't know if I deserve this.

James :  You know, I'm so sorry about what happened between me and Mira.

Anne   :  Who's Mira?

Matt      :  뭐? 걔가 Mira에 대해서 몰랐단 말이야?

James :  그렇다니까. 그런 얘긴 하지 말았어야 했는데! 나 정말 바보였어.

Matt     :  너 정말 그런 말은 할 필요가 없었던 거야. 알겠어?

James :  그래서 나 그 두 사람을 서로 소개시켜 줄까 해.

Matt     :  음, 그거 좋은 생각같다. 그 둘이 친구가 될 수도 있겠지.

 

Matt      :  What? He didn't know about you and Peter?

James  :  That's right. I shouldn't say that. I was a fool.

Matt      :  You really didn't have to tell him that. You know?

James :  So, I'm thinking of introducing them to each other.

Matt     :  Hmm, I like that idea. Maybe they can be friends.
