영어회화 12일 : 조언 받아들이기

1. I think you’re right. - 당신 말이 맞는 것 같아요.

It’s five to eleven! We’d better get going.    11시 5분 전이야! 가는게 좋겠어.

I think you’re right.   네 말이 맞는거 같아.

• 아무래도 우리는 그렇게 해야겠어.  I think we should.
• 그 생각이 맞는거 같아.  I like the sound of that.
• 두말하면 잔소리지.  You can say that again.
• 그러게 말이야.  I’ll say.

 

2. I see your point, but ~   -   ~네 말의 의미는 알겠지만...

Don’t you think we have to proofread it again?    다시 한번 검토해야 하지 않을까?

I see your point, but we have no time.    네 말은 알겠겠지만, 우린 시간이 없어.

• 그렇지도 모르지, 하지만 우리한테 그럴 시간이 있을까?   Maybe, but do we have time?
• 우리가 그럴 형편이 된다고 생각되지 않아.   I don’t think we can afford it.
• 사정은 알겠지만 규정상 그렇게 해드릴수 없습니다.   I understand your point, but the regulations don’t allow that.

 

3. 영어로 말해보기

Matt    : 정말 이해가 안돼네. 뭣 때문에 이렇게들 늦는거지?

Jenny  : 걱정마, 이시간에 교통이 워낙 막히잖아.

Matt     : 그래, 네 말이 맞아..그래도..

Anne   : 우리 늦겠어. 지하철 타자.

James : 좋은생각이야. 그래야겠어.

Anne   : 참, 우리 선물사야지. 네 제일 친한 친구가 승진했잖아.

James : 네 말은 이해가 되는데 그래도 그럴시간이 없어.

Anne   : 에이, 꽃이라도 좀 사자.

 

Matt     :  I just don’t get it. What’s taking them so long?

Jenny  :  Don’t worry. The traffic’s bad at this time.

Matt     :  Well, I think you’re right. But still....

Anne   :  We’re going to be late. Let’s take the subway.

James :  That’s a good idea. I think we will.

Anne   :  Oh, we should buy a present! Your best friend got promoted!

James :  Well, I see your point, but we have no time.

Anne   :  Come on, let’s buy some flowers at least.

James :  자, 이제 프리젠테이션 준비는 전부 된거지?

Harry   :  그런 것 같아. 그래도 혹시 모르니까 복사본 하나 더 만들어 놓자.

James :  네 말이 맞아. 그러는 게 좋겠다.

Harry   :  그리고 컴퓨터가 잘 작동하는지도 확인해 보자.
James :  그럴 필요는 없을 것 같아. 진 양이 우리 대신 벌써 확인했어, 게다가 시간도 별로없어.

 

James  :  So, are we fully ready for the presentation?

Harry    :  I guess we are. But let’s make one more copy just in case.

James  :  I think you’re right. We should do that.

Harry    :  And let’s check the computer again to see if it works well.
James  :  I don’t think so. Miss Jin already did that for us. Besides, we don’t have much time.
